One year ago Tyson and I meet up at a local restaurant in Birmingham on my way through town. Tyson and I had dated about a year and a half before that and had just stayed friends, randomly keeping in touch. That night Tyson decided he would not let me go and stay around until he was the only one left. A month later we were seriously involved! Now one year later we both have new jobs, a new car, got engaged, bought a new house, and soon will be Mr & Mrs! It's been fast in some ways, but it took us two years to figure out how to get it right, so we're running with it! I'm so glad I was Tyson's New Year Resolution, guess that's one you kept babe! I love you!

Christmas Morning!!

Well, we definitely had #1 a lot of fun at Christmas #2 a lot of food for Christmas and #3 a lot of pictures to share! I may have went a little overboard :) Lets start with Tyson's stocking, 3-economy size ketchup bottles! The tree and presents looked so nice that morning. Hilary really did a great job with the house and food! Vivi came right in to see what Santa had brought. Her stocking was ridiculous!! And of course everyone got their Vivi hugs and love all day! Santa brought Vivi a Diego Rescue Center, a Tent, and a Dora vanity. Tyson and I racked up the gifts as well. I didn't know we'd been that good. Tyson and I set limits for Christmas but at the last minute went a little over when we both found nice 'wedding' gifts. He got a new watch and I got a pair of diamond and pearl earrings! Thanks BABE! (I can't wear them until the wedding though, nuts!)

Vivi started taking her bows and putting then on her tent. It was so cute! Vivi just opened and opened and opened until she was surrounded by paper, boxes, and toys! Tyson and I got a beautiful ornament of Alabama. Tyson tried to help put together, well just get out of the box, a few toys. Some of these things are 'adult' proof. At one point Vivi was up in the fire place playing with her new Rescue Center. I got a GREAT new bag!! Later in the morning Vivi's Grandma Blakely came over to visit and play!

Pop got a big, heavy duty tool box for Christmas! Later the tree looked empty, but the living room floor was full! Vivi seemed to have a lot of fun playing in her tent. She even got Mom and Dad on the floor and in the tent with her. Steven got a lot of great books and one was full of some great trivia, toilet trivia :) Hilary also got a few new ornaments and she went right to her tree to put them on. Lastly Vivi had gotten a camera! A real digital camera. Once we got it working and she learned how to work it she was a picture taking Diva :) Almost as bad as me. It was so adorable! As you can see she's Rudolph as well :)

Tyson and I left out about midday to go back to Guntersville, one last time for 'one' more Christmas dinner.... Thanks for everything and to all our families! We're exhausted, but had a wonderful time! (PS Tyson and my first Christmas "together" and we just had a 1 yr anniv.)

Christmas Continues....

Well, we've been to Clanton, had Christmas at our house in Bham, no we're off the Guntersville again for presents on Christmas Eve! We always open presents at my grandmothers Christmas Eve night, but this year we doubled up. We opened at my parents house and then went down one house and opened more at Grandmothers. We just thought we were tired that night.... We got so many great things, and all useful and much needed, which are the best gifts! First we read the Christmas Story form the BIBLE. Tyson got his very own stocking this year too. Lyda Mae got a calendar and almanac; Dad got an outside/inside thermometer; Mom got the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, her favorite! And I got my annual Christmas Bear! Now we head off to Decatur to wake up with Vivi when Santa comes!

Another family Christmas...

My grandmother came down Thursday night with my parents to see our new home. Tyson's parents and Jim, Lisa, Corey, and O' all came over as well! Unfortunately things got delayed, due to a lengthy power outage. The whole neighborhood lost power due to some heavy wind and storms, right as I was starting the potatoes and cheese grits.... Everyone came on in spite of the weather and I found every candle in the house. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and right before we decided to go ahead and eat what we had, the lights came on!! YEAH!! I finished cooking and we had a great dinner. (Thanks to everyone who helped out!)
After we ate dinner we had more candies and desserts to dig into. Then we got to open gifts, I think Olivia likes her new bouncy Princess ball. Grandmother and Mom helped her play with her new puzzle, while Tyson and Corey played his new "Alabama" Uno card game. After everyone left most the dishes and plates seemed to be empty, so I'm satisfied to say it went well. Tyson and I were really proud my grandmother made the big trip down.

Littlejohn/Davis Family Christmas

We started our Christmas family rounds last Sunday. Tyson's mom's family got together in Clanton to eat, and there was no shortage on food or children. We had a great time playing with our new cousin Dax; Kepler and Vivi had a lot of fun playing and opening lots of presents! We also went to church that morning to watch his mom play hand bells, which I really enjoy. We've been blessed to get to go to Hunter Street Baptist Church for their Christmas program, First Baptist in Clanton, and to a special candle light service this year. It really keeps what the season's all about in perspective. We've truly been blessed!

Christmas Dishes!

My Christmas present from Tyson! I love my new Christmas dishes. They're just every day dishes, so we can enjoy them all month! I love snowflakes and snowmen and these were perfect!

Our 1st Christmas...

It's our first Christmas together and in the new house!! We've put the fixing-up and unpacking on hold to decorate and celebrate the Christmas Holidays. We have had an amazing year and have truly been blessed to no end. We're both so excited we get to have multiple Christmas celebrations with all our families this year. The decorating is due in great part to everyone giving us a few things here and there. It's coming together. Tyson's trying to hold me back from buying too much.
He reminds me there's always next year...

Then there's the TREE!!! Unfortunately we went to Lowes on Friday night at 9pm three weeks before Christmas, so all the full, pretty, BIG tall one's were gone, and just couldn't buy a tall tree with a few branches, so we got a regular tree, about 8 foot tall. Maybe next year..... BUT for this year we have our first real tree and we even split it. From the front it looks decorate very nicely, from the Left side it's all snowmen (my side), and from the right side and back it's all Alabama and Sports (Tyson's side).

Progress...

We're making progress! My grandmother bought us a new bedroom comforter set, curtains, pillows, ect. (and they all match!) We're working and a few more touches with the blue, maybe some painting, real night stands, and monograming the pillows, but it's progress!! :)

A work in progress...

Well, we're getting there... kind of.... Who knew moving was such a LONG ordeal. Our families have been really, really, helpful!! Everyone's been asking how it was coming along, so here are a few pictures to unpdate everyone. At least it's not empty anymore, we've almost covered every space :) Top is Tyson fixin the shower (he ended up breaking it, seriously); then there is our beautiful master bedroom, HA HA; and OUR NEW FRIDG!! I love it! It even has some food now. Bottom: There is our new blinds and silky ruby curtains in the dining room; the garage aka: my clsoet; and the guest bedroom, best looking room in the house :)

Around the house...

More pictures from around the house, before the moving started!!

OUR FIRST HOME

Our first home... WOW! What a process! Thankfully we had a great realtor, inspector, lender, insuarnace agent!! ALL GREAT!! And our families!! We are so thankful, we've truly been blessed throughout this entire process. We are so happy and ready to start moving in and working on making it our home.

We were sooo COLD!!! We took some engagement pictures just for fun in our favorite town, where we meet so long ago.... T-town, Tuscaloosa, THE University of Alabama!!

The proposal

On August 22, 2007, Tyson proposed and ever since we've been on a wild journey. Just in the past six months we've both got new jobs in Birmingham, bought a new car, got engaged, planned a wedding, and just recently bought our first new home. The wedding count down has started and we want to share this crazy journey with you!!
The story.........
August 22, 2007 at 7:44pm we got engaged!!
Wednesday night, our usual "date night," I was prepared for a nice dinner at a great Italian restaurant, but got so much more! Our dates nights are usually fun or really sweet, Tyson always does a great job planning and surprising me. This Wednesday, Tyson had two dozen roses for me when I arrived at the house. I changed out of my work clothes, only learning then, that I had forgotten to grab a pair of jeans and couldn’t find my shoes, so mis-matched we went on. We went to eat at a wonderful Italian place, very romantic with a piano player, candles, ect. We had been to this specific restaurant, Leonardo’s, many times before with the great atmosphere. This time, however, we were sat in a bright window seat and loud, older people beside us. It was kind of funny, but I could tell Tyson had that slight disappointed look. After dinner we were headed home, I thought, and Tyson realized he had left his Costa-sunglasses, so we went back (bless his heart, so nervous) Then we left out again, but we didn't turn towards home. Tyson drove me up to the Vulcan, on top of Birmingham just as the sun was setting. We had been there before, so I just thought he was being sweet. I love the view from up there! As we walked up the pathway, there was a table covered in ice, with drinks, and a plate full of chocolate covered strawberries (Tyson made them himself.) We got up to the table and Tyson started to tell me how much he loved me and how he wanted to be the best man he could be for me and us. He went on and as I started crying, he got down on one knee and proposed. Well... I said YES!!
So save the date: April 19, 2008!!
